Call today from a client with a dead T4... The "loaner" T2C I swapped out for a repair, yep, dead within a week. Frickin RTI.
I need to ask for a trade:
2 dead T4s, 1 dead T2C and 150 control bucks For 2 XP6s and a couple iPad app licenses
Seems fair enough.

I applied the 2nd coat of primer on my lincoln...wet sanded...drilled holes for new script. It's finally ready for paint. This is a pic of the new script. Its from a 63 lincoln. I like it much better than the one that came with the 69. Its 1/3 bigger and really stands out.

Have fun with it!

I was looking for a monte carlo when i stumbled upon the lincoln. I wanted the 'training day' coupe. (pic below) I was searching for coupes between 1960-1980 and the lincoln showed up in the results. I never heard of the Mark III until that day. It straddles the line between luxury and muscle car. The new paint job & wheels will hopefully push it more towards the muscle side. The guy had the lincoln listed at ebay and it didn't sell. He had the car about 5 minutes from my cousins house near the wisconsin/illinois border. My cousin went over to take a look at it and said it was in great shape. The guy was asking $3400 or $3800. I can't remember now. Either way it was a great price for the car. I had my mom, a professional haggler... call up and she got the guy to sell it for $2800. As soon as i saw the black leather interior i knew what i wanted the car to look like. The truck from 'the expendables' popped in my head.

"Can't we all just get along?" Motech and I met for lunch today. Mo was nice enough to fly all the way out just to teach me how to navigate iTunes. Considering the subject, it will only take three more trips and my acceptance of the fact that I'll never have clean meta data. All in all, a great day. [IMG] [/IMG]

BBQ. Or, as Mo would call it, "a meat place".

I worked in BFE for 13 hours getting a new system up and running. For once things went VERY smooth, had a streak there of DOA equipment and or bugs in firmware(love/hate new gear), glad it all has smoothed out, nearly time to take a few long weekends and get out of town
Cleaning up my Cobra vert for Woodward Cruise in Detroit this weekend, then maybe a Chesney/Zac Brown Band concert, then casino, just hate the 5 hours (more like 6 at normal speed) back and forth

I've been really busy and haven't posted or contributed much lately. Spent the day at one of my take over jobs. Replaced a TV that's located outdoors in a palapa and sorted out the remote programming. Added a Blu-ray so they can also watch movies, fixed a bad wire on the sub and moved one of the speakers for a little better sound (5.1). Nice place to spend the day. House is up away from the coast a bit, but has nice ocean views.

Wrapping up a 32 channel CCTV install on a school campus. Today we were attempting to get thevthree ptz instals complete, but were unsuccessful. Two of these are the furthest cams from the dvr at about 3000 feet. we spent a couple hours trouble shooting trying to finda bad connection or punch down in alibi and the culprit turned out to be a defective rj45 coupler.
We were able to get ptz control over a single pair of 23awg cat6 at about 3000' with 6 coonevtion points between the two ends. This was the video as well and worked great with an active receiver. Power is local in the closest IDF.
We are having trouble getting control of one ptz but it may be a defective unit, we reusing all their old at this time. Ran out ifbtime and still figuring out the dip switch settings for the ptz Id's. This is our first time installing analog ptz cams and anything at these distances.

Putting up 70" Sharp panel at 4:30 today (on a friday).......gee what could go wrong?
Three of us get it up above a fireplace, my partner plugs it in to flat plug extension cord before I could check wiring behind tv, the other installer helps by pushing the bottom of the panel back against the wall when...kaboom and electrical flash behind tv.
I remain calm, customer is about 20 feet away in the kitchen. I figure the magic smoke has come out and we are screwed. Turns out the thin ac cord has gotten pinched by the mount and has shorted neutral to hot. We calmly take tv down bring it to another room, remove ac power cover on back and I remove cord and I fix the damage with heat shrink and solder.
We plug it in and holy sh*t the gosh darn thing works, and homeowner has no idea that the tv came back from an almost fatal error. I could have used some adult diapers for this.

This happened to me this year for the first time. Scared the hell out of me. Power cord had lots of nicks in it from others moving it on the articulating mount. I replaced the power cord and zip tied it to stay away from the bracket. TV was fine. It was an older/heavy plasma above a fireplace and I was alone and wanted no part of taking it down.
