Put off our honeymoon to Puerto Rico due to bad weather so today was the first day back in the field after Saturdays wedding. I hope I detox soon. Today was rough.

Congrats and drink lots of water!

I haven't checked in for awhile. we drove to Idaho the Friday before Memorial day after work, got to Boise Saturday at 10am, unloaded a few things at my bro-n-laws, then met up with some friends and headed to the mountains.

We spend Sat and Sun night up there and had a great time. Haven't been camping in WAY to long. It rained on and off the entire time, but no wind and not too cold. We had 4 four wheelers plus a little 90 four wheeler. All the rain made for some really fun and dirty riding. Spent everyday either riding or fighting to keep a fire going with wet wood in the rain.

Had some great food, plenty of beer and great company. Loved every minute of it.

We spent a couple days in Boise. Went to "Alive After Five" on wednesday. They have a live band every week through the summer with vendors right in down town. All free. There was suppose to be a flash mob and my wife even learned the basics of the dance. We were already for it (me to video record), but we didn't really know the band or the song and so when they did it, the flash mobbers were too much in the crowd and nobody could see.

Had dinner and saw Hangover 2. Drove back to CA the next day. Spent last Friday working on a small prewire (remodel) and finalizing the cabinet and ventilation.

Spent yesterday and today installing an outdoor system. Using a Niles ZR6 that we had in stock with the Epsiode 6" ES Outdoors (love these speakers) and the Metadata Keypads. Great solution for easy iPod and radio control, plus a CD changer. Didn't touch their existing system (yet!). They just redid their pool aread, definitley gonna get some pics.

Started trying some P90X, did yesterday and today and what a work out. Lucky for me the disc today was scratched or something and we missed the last 25 minutes. Worked out, as we were able to have dinner with some friends.

Hoping to get one more install done this week and a couple more in order and ready to go shortly. We have 3 days of Crestron training next week.

do wino hue?

Bruce,

How about some video of it in action. Sounds impressive!

What equipment did you use?

I think im pretty over take over projects. It's amazing how used to doing things the right way we can become. I enjoy trimming out projects that we planned and wired. It's so easy its almost boring. Clean up projects are always a nightmare.

I am on my 8th day straight in Santa Fe on a take over project.. what a freaking nightmare.. No wire management, labels or seemingly any order to which color cat5 they were using. Back of racks had lacing bars but damn if someone wasn't going to use them if they didn't have to. I'm installing new EQ, Kaleidescape with BluRay vault, BluRay for streaming and Autonomics music server (don't even get me started on that one) fixing the existing mess as good as possible and completely reprogramming the AMX system all by myself. It's amazing how badly someone can design and install a system even when money isn't an issue. I'm getting paid time and materials but it's almost not worth it anymore, I would rather be at home on my own couch back in Colorado.

did i mention it was 92....today sucked ;)

if it makes you feel any better; it was a tad bit cold in the office today.  i think someone forgot to adjust the thermostat so it was a few degrees cooler than it should have been.

Congrats. Where are you going in PR? My gf is from Rincon. It's off the beaten path and has some ocean access. Probably best to stay in the bigger towns for the honeymoon.

I feel for you... tomorrow I dig into this take over project that I posted about 4 weeks ago. Planning to spend 2 days here to sort through it enough to make a game plan on how to proceed.

Started prewiring a renovation/addition project. I was told it was going to be 6 zones of audio & 6 zones of HD video distribution. Designer came out to walk through again with homeowners, and now we're doing speakers in 11 zones plus prewiring for 3 more rooms, and I believe 8 video zones. Plus they sound like they're willing to spend the money for a real decent theater (been doing too many low-end Episodes in theaters/media rooms lately). My only complaint is that Sparky's doing structured wiring, and he doesn't seem on top of things.

Spent the afternoon troubleshooting 4 Axis PTZ IP cams. Had IP addresses, but no video. After talking to tech support, found out our Netgear POE switch couldn't provide enough power. I spent nearly 2 hours in the attic cutting/splicing/ reterminating the Cat5s so I could put the Axis POE injectors online. Luckily, there was power somewhat in the vicinity of each cam for IR illuminators.

Came home and drank 5 Flying Dog Woody Creek White's. About to open #6 and I've only been home about 3 hours. Did I mention it's 7:47 pm and it's STILL 101 degrees outside?

Planning for July... trip to CA, hanging out with a friend in Philly on a Sunday with the next day off..... only 14 working days on the calendar for next month.... BRING IT! LOL :)
