Never thought I'd say that I just had my ass (more like back) kicked by a 36" tv... But that damn Sony 36" CRT tv tried its best. What a heavy son of a bitch that thing was. Will admit the 46" Samsung 8000 looks much better and I hung that by myself. Props to the guys who were doing installs during that whole CRT fiasco... I would've quit. LED is making life way too easy :)

I just googled that SOB... 225 pounds... Are you kidding me? On the other hand I feel a bit stronger now.

I should take pictures of the cabinet it was in, scratches are like war wounds from the initial install and new ones getting it out and down to the basement. Worst part, husband had us put it upstairs then the wife made us move it to the basement. Up one flight, down two. It'll be an interesting bill when all done.

i booked a flight to go to one of my boss's memorial service in LA on Monday.

then I worked on an estimate for an old friend who wants to put a TV over a staircase that leads up to his kid's play room/old pinball arcade

wow.. haven't been here in 11 months... still the same players!

What's up, Ed and Roddy!

Yep. We had one at the showroom for the longest time and when my boss said "you can have it if you carry it out of here".......... It sat there a little longer.

Ha ha ha ... oh I don't miss those days!!! Once we (myself and my installer) had a 40 inch Mitsdubishi drop shipped to a client on a remote island in he San Juan's... We got to the house and of course could not move it upstairs to the master bedroom... so we headed over to the local pub, and hired-out 4 guys @$100 each to help us!!!

My back hurts just thinking about those days... especially the big Sony's!!!

many moons ago when I worked in retail, I delivered a 40" Sony CRT with the help of a coworker.  The homeowner had a cabinet maker build a custom built in cabinet to house the TV.

We lugged the TV into her living room, unboxed it, and started lifting it into place before we found a tiny problem.

Apparently the guy didn't know how to use a tape measure, because it was about 10" short on the depth.    She ended up returning the TV so we had to box it back up and take it back with us.  She was not refunded the delivery charge of a whopping 45 bucks...

That taught me to always double check the cabinet guy's work before wasting my time, and back.

Finished up the A/V portion of an install this week.

Had this one about 90% complete at Thanksgiving so it was operational while the clients were in town, and just now finishing the last few details before they return again.

• Two 5.1 rooms
• Three more TV's on HDMI matrix including an outdoor Sunbrite
• Five zones of distributed audio
• URC Control
• All gear centrally racked except for local Blu-ray players

Here's a few snapshots from the phone:

Thanks guys.  I'll try to get some better pictures of this one once all the interior decorating and landscaping is complete.

Cnd Weasel... tell me a little bit about those horn speakers.  I don't do high end stuff, so don't even know what they are or who makes them.

Cheers,
Paul
