tgrugett... Was that boat down @ Delta Marine? No... in Ballard off of leary @ YSNW Hey... did not know you were involved in Madrona. Seiler hit me up about this not too long after HTI went down but I was already on my way to getting ILS running. I have been hearing about it for a while now but was not sure about the progress. Curious to know where the office will be...

Replaced a P.A. system at a heat treating plant. I was just black after the installation, my wife didn't want to let me in the house. Unfortunately I neglected to add a charge for cleaning my tools and ladders in the proposal, tomorrow morning is shot. You can see one of the P.A. speakers in the upper center of the bottom pix.

Walked into the mech room of a job and found sparky's lighting control setup sigh..... Dude, that looks awesome! Every switch in its own, metal (great cooling!) enclosure. No de-rating any of those switches. Plenty of room to work. Sufficient space and backboard to label the switches. You don't want to see the box fill on the switches we're been replacing :-(

Page 3? You guys haven't been doing sheet huh.
I've been moving for the past couple days and it SUCKS!!! I haven't moved since we moved to CA about 6 years ago. We're about 90% done with the actual moving, then the cleaning, then the unpacking. ugh.

Hey guys, look, I found this little guy on Page 3.....AGAIN!!! WTF? Maybe you should get off your asses and go do some work......sorry that last sentence was for me ^_^
The last week has been cleaning up and fixing the house that we lived in for the last 6 years, moving out that last few things, painting, sanding and staining a door (damn dogs), pulling spacers and putting switches back in, more cleaning.
I go over today to get the last couple things, but first we are doing a job (yes I know its a holiday, but I drank beer and lounged yesterday, after painting and sanding). We have to take down a 60 Pioneer and uninstall a bunch of equipment, patch up the holes and move it all to the new house, then start installing. We didn't do the original install.

Don't you have day laborers where u live? Here they work 8 hours for $100 and are the hardest working guys I've ever seen. Our local govt has a liason office to find the guys that are experienced movers. Just supervise them. That was easy.

We are packing up and moving as well, oh the joys... Yeah, at least mine was only a few blocks away. The last move I did was from state to state also, luckily it was so long ago I actually forgot how bad it sucked. Today. So this client has been a bit of a pain. He was VERY unhappy with the shop that did his original install about 18 months ago. The work was okay, some things I would have done differently, but okay. Well actually the equipment rack and cooling system was a joke, but other than that. So he was referred to us by a friend, he has moved and had us take down, patch up the walls and move the system to his new rented house and install. We've discusses prices and I've done everything I can to help him keep the cost down. Reusing all of his interconnects and rack shelves, everything we could. I get there today to finish up the install and show him where we're at and where I think we'll be by the time we're done (12 hours - 2mancrew). Get this, he says to me: "that seems a little high for a house I'm only going to live in for a year or so." .....I'm thinking, what, sigh, seriously. So I say, "unfortunately its going to take me the same amount of time to install this system whether you stay here 1 year or 5." I didn't really respond, other than, okay, get to work. Personally, we've busted ass and done pretty well: We uninstalled a 60" TV, custom Center speaker, equipment, equipment rack and a 42" TV, patched, textured and painted all the holes (there were quite a few). Packed up and moved all the equipment to the new house. Install the 60" & Custom center & side speakers to the Dispaly, fished wires for TV, speakers & TV Powerkit through attic and into hallway closet, install power in the closet, install a cable line into the new equipment closet and a Network line, mounted 42" in bedroom and setup a 40" in another room, Assembled 21U rack, installed shelves, equipment, wiring and control system (no programming). He has these POS hdmi baluns that are just a decora plate and a board. The only brand name I can find on either unit is In-Visions Technologies. We ran good Audioquest Cat6 (roughly 50-60') and the damn things can't hold a sync. So I'm guessing we'll have to put something better in. ***** Hack-Of-The-Day ***** To get them through the weekend I jimmy rigged my own component balun. We took a generic component cable and cut it in half. Then took an ICC RJ45 jack and punched down the 6 wires of the component cable, did this on both ends, plugged in our Cat6 that we just ran, hooked it up and it worked great! I didn't take any time to really check out the picture but it worked and will probably keep working until we can get this figured out.
