Yes, actually the pictures don't do justice to that house... It is a real jaw-dropper. Every aspect of it is amazing. Incrediible design & craftsmanship...

Looks like it's going to be an amazing company! The website is off to a good start, but, IMO, you need to add pictures with the text. For instance, I was wondering about TRUFIG, and while there is a good description of it, there are no pictures showing what it looks like. CJ

CJ Yeah, the site, www.madronadigital.com is still under construction, and for that matter it WILL be under construction, so to speak on a continuum type of basis... We will always be updating, and adding new things to the site, and we have some interesting ideas that we are working on for the site i.e. possibly a blog. We're all pretty passionate about what we do, and we also want the site to be a good information source, so, you'll notice that it is written by us from our viewpoint, versus just posting manufacturor's verbage. You'll see a growing library of technical "white papers", pictures or videos of projects, and how things are done. We want the site to be approachable by both technical & non technical people, and also the DIY crowd. We're doing the site in-house and I agree, we need to post up more picks... It's getting there. Thanks for your input. As the showrooms start getting trimmed-out with product, and the theater gets installed we'll of course post those. We DO have some incredible computer generated renderings of what the finished theater may look like. I'll check with amirm, and see if he'd be interested in posting that on the site... We're always open to suggestions and input. Thank you.

This was from Monday... Nice little Russound system initially installed by an out of town CI (flown in from Florida where he'd worked on the customer's other home). He was only on-site for a couple days, so a few of the details didn't pan out. The equipment was installed on sliding shelves, but poor cable management meant the shelves wouldn't push back all the way and the doors wouldn't close. Also no ventilation, so even if the doors would close, you couldn't keep them closed without overheating the equipment. I pulled everything out, cut an air inlet vent in the toe kick and then exhaust fans in the back of the cabinet that push the hot air into the wall cavity and down into the crawlspace. A Middle Atlantic SRSR rack was the perfect fit an makes the equipment easy to service. Original shelves: Shelves removed: Install Fans: Cable management using original interconnects: Completed rack: Rack in: Rack extended: Rack swiveled: Fun 1 day project! Didn't run into any problems and the customer is very happy to be able to close the cabinet doors now.

Nice work. That rack looks awesome compared to the slide out shelves. I wonder why they did slide out shelves. I will bet the client and his cabinet maker are to blame for it (i hope anyway).

I did talk to the original installer and he seemed to know his stuff, but I don't have the full story. I expect you're correct and the cabinet guy convinced the homeowner the shelves would work out and the CI went along with it hoping he could make the best of it when he got there. It sounds like the cabinets did initially close, but were left open for cooling and once the shelves were pulled out, they wouldn't go back in. When I found it, the shelves couldn't be pushed in enough to close the doors, or pulled out far enough to service the equipment. It's a $4-6M home and I think it's been like this for about 2 years... The cabinet to the right has the cable box and DVD player and had also been left open for cooling. I stuck one of the MA fans on the cable boxe and was able to close it up too. Nice customer and I'll be back to touch-up some remote programming and a few other things in a couple weeks.

Nice work! Dont you wish they all went that way. Yeah... it's unusual when a retrofit job goes that smooth. I had to offset the fans to the left to accommodate the wall framing, but everything else just fell into place. The cabinet backs to a large wall cavity that's open to the crawlspace below, so the ventilation was easy to retrofit. All the wires were JUST long enough to allow the rack to fully rotate, and when I plugged everything back in, it all worked first try. How often does that happen? :)

It appears to me that a combination of hacks worked on that job! I was thinking the same thing... Almost everything in that photo looks suspect!
