Mr Stanley,
Congrats, a great way to go out of town with a big job under your belt. Let me know when you want to hook up at the show, maybe thursday night at one of the parties.
Sounds like business is starting to pick up for everyone if only a little.

Nice job CJ. Today was a nice day, worked on a design for a theater I just got, went to the gym, stopped by a clients shop and tweaked his cameras. Then I came home and figured I'd take advantage of a perfect day and worked on the lawn, while walking around with a jug of round up i disturbed a wasp's nest and now I'm not so happy. [email protected]%K this hurts!

Today I did a little "horse trading" and got a mint pair of A/D/S 910's complete with the cast irontilt-stands.
AMAZING speakers. Luckily, I'm single because they are not high in the WAF catagory!
I had a tri-amped pair in the early eighties, and never should have got rid of them.
I traded my Magnaplanars and a bunch of B&O stuff for them.
They simply kick ass . Powerful, bass and amazing, simply amazing mids & highs! WHEW!
Big though.
I had them cranked today - it was like a religious experience.
Next purchase or trade, a used Linn turntable.

I hate you

both of you guys are on my wavelength.  right now i'm listening to uncompressed .WAV streaming from my laptop to my squeezebox at 1411Kbps, running analog into my Music Hall A25.2, and into my Revel M20s.  religious experience indeed!

wherever you live in north america, you may have brown hornets, which are nasty bastards.  often called yellow jackets, i've been stung by these creatures over 20 times in one event.  all hornets can sting multiple times, unlike bees which die when they sting.
just be glad you don't live in an asian country that has giant hornets.

Thanks, Stamp (and others for your comments). I tried working on that last night, but never got it looking right. Good job on the TP too! Mind if I borrow your image?

What did you use for acoustic side panels? Owens Corning 703?

Mixed an ounce of gasoline with a bottle of duraflame gel based starter fluid, saturated the hole where the wasps live and the area around it, hit it with a plumber's tourch, smacked the hole with a shovel, and watched those little bastards try to get out. The best was the stragglers trying to get back in when they flew over the fire and they dropped. Sting me and try to get away with it.

I'm on call for jury duty for the next week.  I have a number to call each evening after 5pm and it tells me if I have to report the next morning so haven't been able to schedule any work for 5 days.

I didn't have to go in today so spent the morning visiting 4 jobs that are in progress.

Here's a few photos from two of the jobs:

This bookcase is in the master bedroom.  Fireplace to the right with flat panel above.

Bookcase swings in to access a hidden closet where a wall mount rack will contain all the equipment. A DVD or Blu-Ray player will be installed on one of the shelves for easy access.

This is a little bench seat at another job.

It swings open to reveal a small 22" LCD that can be pulled out on an articulating mount.

The panel under the bench is hinged and swings down to allow access to a space big enough for DVD and cable box.

I like doing fun stuff like this!
