This guy lives in my neighborhood... Today I bumped into him in the Produce section of the local Grocery Store...
Like a complete dork, I went over and shook his hand and mumbled something stupid about my respect for he and his (late) father...
It was Ronald Reagan Jr. --- he was pretty nice about it, but looked a little surprised!!!
Afterwards, I thought to myself I should have just left the poor guy alone!
Oh Well!!!

Whenever i see famous people i stay away from them. I cant stand it if the waitress bugs me to much.. i cant imagine what it must be like to get approached all day long.

I was just kind of amazed... I listen to his Radio program everyday... even schedule my work around it (when I can)... I used to work @ a Magnolia Store. One afternoon, my friend who worked there with me, went marching up to Bill Russell, when he entered the store (who lives nearby)... My friend sticks his hand out to shake his hand and he hollers out: Hey! Hi BILL!!!... ...Bill Russell didn't shake my friend's hand, and to make it even more awkward said in a booming voice so that everyone in the store could hear it..."Son, I don't know you, so to you --- I am Mr. Russell, NOT - BILL"!!! The rest of us sales pukes looked on with jaws agape!!! It was a priceless moment in retail! LOL!!! "Mr. Russell" did buy a JVC VCR from my friend though! We teased him about it every chance we got after that -- for years!!! My friend felt like a real ass.

Whenever i see famous people i stay away from them. I cant stand it if the waitress bugs me to much.. i cant imagine what it must be like to get approached all day long. Just over a year ago I did a job for ******** Fish****** in the Hollywood hills. I spent just over a week putting it together and never once acted like I knew or cared who he was. at first he was happy about it but as time went on he would frequent the room I was in more and more often. He hinted around for a while and then finally outright asked if I knew who he was. I simply replied "yes." Again he asked if I had seen any of his movies to which I replied "Yes, and I liked most of them". He then asked witch one I didn't like and if the one I didn't like was so bad that I haven't bothered to ask him for an autograph. I replied with, " ***** **** and It was pretty bad but really, autographs are boring. I will however take a black eye. Thats something to brag about". He laughed and from that point on ended up hanging around every chance he got. He always offered me food, drink and hits off his joint which I always declined. I just simply told him I was working and he didn't want his house to be fu%#ed up. I cant tell you how many times he came into the room with delivery food and told me to take a break. We would sit and talk about just average bullsheit and I realized he obviously doesn't get much of that in his life. When I took the job I promised 6 days and at the time it was a big deal. He knew he was slowing me down and straight out told me to take my time and not worry about the deadline. He said it's nice to feel like I don't have to hide in my own house. I've been invited to four parties since then and attended two of them. All four invites were personal invites by him and not his assistant. Many referrals have come from this experience and not once did one of these referrals question my quote or travel expenses. I guess what I'm trying to say Stanley is leave these people alone! Being a star is like trading your freedom for cash. It's great at first until you realize its permanent. He really opened my eyes to what life is like for him. I wish more people could see that!

Had a first birthday party for my daughter, it was 75 degrees, a perfect day for a huge cookout for 50 people. First one since the fall.

I'm loading the hauler with few steaks and Ice cold Coronas now. The wife wants to head to the Dunes tonight and spend the day riding tomorrow. It's a bit chilly but it will be fun.

I went to a house to make sure that D1rectTV didn't mess up the clients new house. No big deal...right? 5 hours later after pulling all new lines out for the Satellite and a new line to the master for a DVR and then another line to the master and a new line to a guest BR because those two lines were bad in this new house. (Sparky pulled phone and cable.) There were cross braces and other little suprises everywhere. I was worried when I handed the client the bill because it took longer than expected. But the client was totally cool and was very thankful that I was there to save his house. It made the day seem better to have an understanding client.

I went to Home Logic training....I think I like it!!
It will be added to a large(for me) job that I should be trimming out in the next month or two.
Pictures to come.
The system would have worked without HL but it will be so much better with it!!
I feel like I'm stepping up in the world!

It turned into a 50K upgrade project. I was worried when I handed the client the bill because it took longer than expected. But the client was totally cool and was very thankful that I was there to save his house. It made the day seem better to have an understanding client. Feels good to just do business for a change eh? No price shopping no haggling no client playing pauper... Just getting paid for your services.

Back in my Good Guys days I was one of only two people allowed to speak and work with 'Mr. Russell' and was on a first name basis. Incredibly nice guy, but does not do any autographs, nor does he like to be approached - along these lines myself and the other guy he would work with in the store frequently had to tell other customers to leave Mr. Russell alone.
