Nice tidy install there, Mike.

We use alot of the Triad Bronze as well. How do you find them to fit???

Also, I like the name plate on the top of the rack - Nice touch.

The DaLite screen looks like it's tensioned but I don't see any wrinkles. What gives?

Thanks, Robbie. I don't understand your question in regard to the Triad speakers "fitting." Do you mean within my product line up or fitting inside the wall cavity?

Liberty Wire (PanelCrafters) makes the 1U logo plate. Great cheap marketing.

"Best of the 80's." We recently redid the equipment (could have used a color makeover too, but I'm just the electronics guy) in this theater.

Replaced Lexicon CP2 with Marantz SR5003 with preout to existing Crest power amps. Replaced CRT projector with Sony HT10 (nice for the price). Replaced laser disc with BluRay, replaced SD cable box with HD, replaced Lexicon 500T with URC MX850, added Triad inceiling rear surrounds, rewired, relabeled, recalibrated, etc.

Programmed remote to operate Litetouch system that controls the disco lights on rear of projector box, house lights, disco ball, gobo, etc.

great system! i noticed the only silver components were the SA cable box and the VHS player. kind of speaks to the mindset/quality level of cable boxes, that they match VCRs!
i hate cable.
i, too, love the nameplate, and i'm going to be doing the same thing in the near future, whenever i can finally sell a MA rack :D

I hear that happens as you get older. Don't worry! You can just "snuggle!

Fitting in the wall/ceiling...

We put some in to a media room for a 76 y/o lady. They sounded fine but because of their reasonably large and square mounting face, it was tough to get them to sit flat without showing the imperfections in the plaster sheeting of the ceiling.

Nice room. I miss the mid 80's & 90's seems like a LOT of rooms like this were being done... Now it's (can you hang a plasma over the fireplace)?

I was looking at the picture, and at first & thought I saw a couple of CRT projectors firing backwards!!! LOL!

I've had the same problem on a few occasions, especially the square surrounds. A little caulk (insert Stanley joke here) goes a long way.

At least all of these service calls are allowing me to photograph some projects I never shot. These are a recording studio we installed last year above a garage. The dad plays guitar and piano and the son plays drums.

We sent the room plan to Auralex for an acoustic treatment layout and used metal engraved PanelCrafters XLR wall plates for the mic inputs (including 8 drum inputs, 3 guitar/bass, 1 piano, 4 vocal). In the booth, we installed a Mac Pro with ProTools with a DigiDesign console, Presonus preamp and 3 piece Genelec speaker set up. The booth also doubles as a vocal booth as we used thicker acoustical foam here.

I was really happy with the way this turned out, considering it was our first studio. If I had it to do over, I would have taken a more active roll in the room size and construction. I would also have specified an independent HVAC system or zone for this area. All in all a fun room, though.

Mike NICE room.

We got to be a part of one of these. And my wife later recorded her first album in it. Although we were the "wire monkeys" on this project! (smarter people than us did the acoustics!)

In between those 2 big speakers we hung a 52" sharp limited edition to be a MONITOR for his Mac and pro tools!

This was his 'TEMP" studio until his "real" studio was built.

Really cool cat. We did the rest of his house complete.

Here is his living room....

And his whole house audio system....

The mic my wife sang into....

I hope to some day shut down my company and be a house husband!

Kewl stuff. I have tremendous respect for the Pro-Audio world.

Does your wife have a youtube video?
