The other thing that I find funny, and it may have already been mentioned on this thread, is that the number one geek boy in the world, the man who built a million squarre foot castle, the richest man in the world, Bill Gates, uses a Crestron system in his own home. Not MCE, not Lifeware. Crestron.

Correction. He does use Niveus Media Centers. As do the majority of Microsoft executives.

As sources. They are not used as a control system.

this is not a blog, and it seems to tread the

I hate to see the flak EI is going to take for deciding to no longer particpate......

Sad really. I was hoping that they could work up that sysem for me so I would have an idea of what EI hardware/software it would take.

Kind of becoming a pattern with start-up companies. Make a lot of vague claims about what you can do and what the competition cannot, then when asked very specific, direct questions, decide to leave the discussion.

Says a lot about a company.

Everyone loves the kid who just takes their ball and runs home. (sarcastic)

Steve can add another item to his list of "what I learned in this thread"
EI management lacks the balls to address criticism.

Comments (which could also be construed as personal attacks) like these are the only reason we are pulling out of this forum. Anyone that would like to contact EI for a one-on-one conversation where context is clear and tone of voice is not misinterpreted is more than welcome to contact any of our Sales or Support staff. I have already sent emails to a few of you so that we may address your individual needs and concerns.
This will be my last post.

I know you have said you are not posting again, but I know you are still reading. Forum ettiquite is that if someone is offending you, you ignore them. If someone asks you a simple question, you answer. I guess it is all in how you carry/present yourself on-line. There have been some good questions asked that everyone here would like some good answers to. It would say a lot about your product and your company if you would keep the dialog open. Asking people to call the sales department to discuss EI is not a viable option in this day and age. I read/post before and after work, and a lot of the questions raised by other members are questions I would like answers for as well, but would forget to ask. Hence the discussion.
Is it too much to ask to have someone from your company post about EI and only EI? Post about what it can and can't do with no mention of the other guys?

Dropping out of the discussion because people are pointing out things that your product can't do is silly. Instead, you should be using this dialog to get a better feel for what integrators want from your product and using this discussion to improve EI. Once again, cut-and-run at the first sign of negativity says a lot about EI as a company. ALL companies have good days and bad ones (look at denon changers for instance). What is important is how you deal with it.

Emma, could you send me an e-mail with what EI hardware/software it would take for my system specification? Thank you.

I'd hate for this to be construed as a personal attack (thus destroying my sterling reputation) but, you people are gutless!
