I concur with all said here with the addition of this.
Is that an ethernet switch I see at the top with patch cables going to it? Indeed If so, I would consider using a rackmount version in future, with a 1U brush panel above or below it so that any 'slack' or 'spare' patch cable length can be tucked away out of sight. Didn't know you could get them, I'll keep my eyes peeled for one. Although the patching and supply of switch was done by a different IT guy. Consider my work to be everything below the switch at the front and everything visible at the back. All in all, a bloody good rack though! Thank you.

C'mon Simon that aint nothin', check out my stuff I'm ashamed to say that my first ever rack looked like that after about 12 months of chopping and changing stuff inside it. It was the first rack in our old office about 6 years ago. The one in the current office looks pretty good although i didn't do that one. It was done by my sidekick glenn aka "Monkey Boy" who has adopted many of the methods i used on the rack shown in my original post. (If you're reading this...Good one Monkey) Simon.

THat was a 10 zone elan system I took over. If you look at those binding posts closely you'll see a bunch of wires twisted together and looped over the posts. There was "hairs" sticking out everywhere, I'm surprised the amp didn.t just cook itself. Also in the wire jungle below you'll see all kinds od speaker wire wire nutted together. Some of the worst stuff I've seen.

Simon,
You kangaroo hack! I've seen better jobs at Walmart!
I hope you realize I'm completely kidding... nice job. And I love your country... If someone in the Bush regime gets re-elected it's nice to see that I might be able to move and find work down under!
Midnight Oil has always been one of my favorite bands. The drummer, Rob Hirst, wrote a great tour diary/cultural commentary called "Willie's Bar and Grill" that chronicles their 2001 tour of the states. I was fortunate enough to meet them all on the last tour and Peter Garrett seemed like a man who had another calling to get to.

also emitters are on the front of all the components. hide them inside. We have saved hours of service calls by taking an extra hour to put them inside the gear.

RHM9,
I think you would find work here no problem at all. I myself have permenant standing offers from several of our main competitors, and thats not soley because i'm a hard working, problem solving, (egotistical) genius. It's very hard to find good people in this industry. In fact most of the main players will create a possition for someone good even if they aren't looking for someone at the time.

Peace mullet Brian I disagree personally, i think overall you would spend more time inserting them into equipment that fixing problems caused by them not being inside. Besides, technically you void the warranty on most equipment by opening it up to insert the emitter to start with. I have also been out to fix problems on other peoples work where the emitters were placed inside. Guess what those problems were? The emitters, and they take a lot longer to replace when inside the device than they do stuck to the front. I'm not saying you're wrong for doing it your way, just that based on my own experience, i prefer them on the front, unless there is a socket on the back. Simon.

What did you use for your labeling?
From a distance, it looks like they are hand written. I would recommend a label maker. We use an ID Pal, works great.
That and leaving a little bit of slack for future service calls, upgrades, changes.
Otherwise, looks great... REALLY great.
