Stop taking stuff apart that you know nothing about. Microwaves TVs and many electronic devices have these to catch you messing with stuff you know nothing about. Kinda like the little white/red dot in your cellphone that tells on you for taking them swimming. Now Those Suck! Sweating near them in an attic turns them red.

Yeah, they could have made it work for two hours after tripping the switch, just long enough for you to finish and make it home!
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

I think Mr. X is a DIY end user in the UK. But, that is funny as hell anyways.

I would like this file please. I didn't lock up a plasma but I have a 8050 and a 8042 that I want to install using RS-232. I would like the codes that I can't seem to find. So I'm still using IR which works. I just have Fireball, Sherbourn, Sony, Pioneer, and NAD. I want to really have all my devices be 232. SO far I was able to get codes for the Fireball & Sherwood Processor. I have a Sony projector that I will hopefully get those codes from the manual. Buy for some reason Pioneer still hides these codes from custom installers. Thanks, BNC

Thank you CCD,
I'm the owner/ operator of Johnson Electronics Plus. I've been a repair tech for over 20 years. I have trained for sony, philips, panasonic and samsung. When I worked for a company called Harbor audio Video I was mitsubishi authorized. I set up and customized pronto remotes for several clients and have posted a few on this web site.
As for this problem I've had, pioneer will not give unauthorized servicers such as myself much help in that manner.
I've seen some of your threads that chastize those who attempt repairs without prior technical ablity and I too have the same beliefs. Ive seen what these DIY's can do causing more problems than they are worth. any customer who comes to me with a repair they have attempted I simply tell them they have no warranty on the repair.
So Again thanks for the info it has been a big help.
Bob

PS. I attended Techical Careers Institute in Windsor Ct.in 1982. My shop is in Rockland Me. My Office is in Hope Me.
