Is it possible to control the PS3 and x-box with a MX-450?  We would like to move both units into another room for a customer.  I'm not a gamer so I have very little interaction with either of these systems.

Generally we leave them near the TV and the customer just turns on and off manually.  This time we would like to be able to control both units, ON/OFF through the RF on the MX450.

So the questions is, which adaptor do you recommend for control of the PS3 with the MX450.  Is the XBox similar?  Do I need to buy an adaptor for it as well?

The XBOX-360 has an ir port on it so you will not need a special adapter. You will need an adapter for the PS3 and the linked review above gives you a good breakdown of the features of the various models.
