I have both of these remotes being used in different rooms. My PS3 is in my dedicated home theater, where I use the MX-3000. I use the 890 in my family room. I'm currently using the Nyko USB-IR setup on the PS3, and it gets the job done (for the most part). If I get the Harmony PS3 adapter, could I set it up with the Harmony, and then learn those codes into the MX-3000 so that I can have complete control over the PS3 in my theater? I'd have to set up a macro manually for the power off command, but the rest of the codes should work, correct? I've been reading the various bits of info about this adapter, and I haven't been able to definitively understand whether or not I can get do what I'm proposing above. I suppose I could get one and just try it out, but before I go to the trouble of doing so, I thought I'd see what kind of feedback I can get here.

Thanks in advance for any info.

The answer is YES. but there are much easier ways to program your MX3000 with any of the IR to Bluetooth converters. If you go with the Logitech harmony Adapter you can download the HEX files that Daniel has provided here and program your MX3000 directly with those. If you decide on a different unit like the Schmartz, ps3toothfairy, etc. they all have HEX files available as well.

During testing I actually created an MXF file with code setups for all the major Bluetooth adapters (since they're all slightly different)... haven't posted it yet.

I have a new URC MX-6000 and I can not get the Logitech adapter to work correctly with it. I tried using your codes and the ones that work do different functions than they should. I do have a Harmony remote and that is working corectly. I tried learning the IR codes from my Harmony to the MX-6000 and I am getting the same failing results. Any suggestions?

The issue may be up to URC to correct. Logitech chose a very rare protocol, and it seems that the "consistency" that remotes reproduce its timing varies.

The original codes I captured work find on classic Prontos, but were erratic on the Pronto NG and MX-700/800/850. Re-learning the codes on a Pronto NG corrected the issue, but then the codes were too "twitchy" on Pronto classics.

My guess is that the Pronto classic learned the codes at (for illustrative purposes) a speed of "10" and then the Pronto NG played them back at a speed of "8" which was too slow for the adapter to understand. Then I learned new codes which worked on that model at "10", but if I transported them to the original Pronto they played back at "11".

I'm guessing that the MX-6000 is playing them back even slower... maybe a "6" on the Pronto Classic codes and a "8" on my new Pronto codes.

URC may have to create a new database code for this that is reproduced at a consistant speed on their remotes.

I'd like to get John Fine involved, he may be able to figure out new codes that might work.
