I tried a search for hexadecimal but did not find solution. I have a new Infocus SP8602 all codes work except discrete on. I have tried all the codes available with know luck. The hexadecimal for discrete on from infocus is 3Ah. My question is how do I make that into a usable hex code. Using TSU-9800.

Thank's,
Joe

The notation "3Ah" normally means that what you are looking at is a number in hxadecimal notation with the value of 3A. 3A hexidecimal converted and to the decimal base is 3*16+10 which is the decimal number 58.

Now the question of what to send to the Infocus device is dependent on the protocol they are using. If they want hexadecimal numbers then you send 3A in what ever enveloping characters the infocus protocol requires. If they want decimal or binary numbers then you send 58 as an integer. If they want ASCII characters, 3A is the hexidecimal index of the character ":", the colon so you send that character.

It is all dependent on the protocol (message strucrture) that the infocus device wants to see.

Barry,
Thank you for such a quick response. Here is an actual I.R. string for discrete off:

900A 006D 0000 0001 874E 39C6

Does this help???

Okay, so you are speaking IR not RS232. If you can tell me what the hexadecimal code for Power off is according to infocus I may be able to assist you, but the following is probably correct.

What you have just shown me is a Pronto shortcut pattern for a standard IR pattern. The key info in that string is 874E 39C6. If I remember correctly 900A signifies a NEC protocal formatted IR pattern. In that structure 874E represents the device code, and 39C6 represents the key code. The key code consists of two hex bytes (39 and C6) which are the key code and its compliment for error checking.

I suspect The infocus code for Power off is 39. Power on and off are generally successive integers and 39 3A are successive hex integers. why don't you try

900A 006D 0000 0001 3AC5

Mod Edit - The code above is not a valid 900A code. Assuming the device ID from previous code is 0x87/87h or 135(decimal) try this instead.

900A 006D 0000 0001 874E 3AC5

That's actually the discrete on I have and that has been working with most Infocus projectors over the years. The fact that the discrete off works and the discrete on doesn't makes me wonder if the problem lies in the projector??? I have an email into Infocus tech support. I'll keep you posted.

Thank You For Your Help,
Joe
