I hate PEP3 but forced into having to use it since acquiring a TSU9800 and I'm having a really annoying issue with the Database. No matter what components I delete and back up every time I launch PEP3 and click My Database it populates with my old amps and other deleted hardware, it also decides to add it's own files.

Am I doing something stupid or is there a way to clean the Database up so when I'm adding codes I don't have a great big bloody long list of duplicated and obsolete components.

Any help would be great, thanks.

I wish I could offer some advice. Still kicking it old school. Never upgraded to PEP v2 much less PEP v3. Still running PEP v1.1.20.0 where I learn IR codes to buttons, then link to said buttons throughout my configuration file. That being said, perhaps others will chime in that have experience with PEP v3 and the "My Database" feature. I've played around with the "My Database" feature in PEP v1, but don't care for it at all. Wish you the best of luck.

What OS and architecture? Win 10/32 Win10/64 Win11/64?

FYI, you can use PEP2 with a TSU9800, you just won't have access to overlays and the 2 extra hard buttons. You should be able to download to the remote with no issues, IIRC.

Both PEP2 and PEP3 synchronize the database with components in a config you load upon opening the DB with an active configuration.

Also note that the database has a recycle bin that you can clear (see the buttons with red X).

All this being said, I'm not really sure of your exact issue, just that it does not work. A little more detail would be helpful.

OK Lyndel,

I've sent you a private email showing my gripe, hope it makes sense.

It went to my spam. Just replied. email me your config file please. I think you have older components in building blocks that may not be reconciled.

Do you have multiple XCF file projects (multiple remotes) inside a single PEP 3 config?

Why are there 3 copies of the same component in your database for the LG G565 TV. All 3 show to be in use with 2 being modified 2 seconds apart???

If you are here in the US, I can show you how to find out which codes are used where. If you have zoom available, even better. Email me your contact details.

Thanks for the in depth reply late last night for me Lyndel, I will follow what you have advised but also may start again using PEP2. I did have issues uploading using 2 but I suppose nothing stopping me just using PEP3 to upload.

Thanks again, mega helpful, but as my wife used to say I'm only happy when trying to fix things and I suppose that's what's so good about Pronto.

All sorted with the great help from Lyndel, helped me realise my simple error that i'd added many functions to many different duplicated components so PEP3 didn't know any better and reinstated to Database on boot up.

I've deleted every function link in my project and will redo in a few days, but at least now on boot up the Database is clean and accurate.
