OK - all done and I can copy into that folder without prompts - but the drop-down box only shows the original sound files. Looks like we're at a dead end to me, unless you have any other ideas. Your help has been greatly appreciated.
Did you right-click on the PEP2 icon and say Run as Administrator? I am able to see all my sounds on windows 7. However, I've setup PEP2 to run in a particular way using the Windows Application Compatibility toolkit.
Google for this.
windows sdb file
For Win11, this may help to install sdb files.

I cannot find the toolkit directly on microsoft anymore but here's another link.

I downloaded and scanned the EXE below for viruses and none were found. This is the version that I use on Windows 7 to create/edit .sdb files and add to the system compatibility database.

If you email me, I can send you my 3 .sdb files (PEP, PEP2, PSP8) that I created back in 2019 and installed with the Compatibilty Administrator. I set it up to run the ProntoEdit Professional 2.0.exe with a compatibility mode of 'RunAsInvoker'. That artical above on installing .sdb files will likely help you. Note that my .sdb file specifies version 2.4.23.0 of PEP2. If you are running PEP3 or another version, my .sdb files will not help you.
