I have a 9800, replace both batterie's about a year ago. When the unit is on the charger it is on and functional, shows a 100$ on the battery. As soon as I lift it off the dock it turns off. Like instantly. I haven't used it for a while and it has been sitting on the dock, a few weeks ago when I was using it, I had it off the dock and it seemed like it had normal run time on the batteries. Any thoughts?

I'd say most likely the battery has died (internal short circuit).

2 dead batteries. Replace them both. If you need a service manual, email me at the addy on my account from an email address that can accept PDF attachments and I will send along. The 9800 has a very high voltage inverter that can give you a jolt if not careful.

turns out it was just one of the two failed, had an extra one, but I still ordered two more and will put them in when they arrive, thanks all
