So, this morning when I picked up the remote, it was on but not responding, I have had this before, so I turned off the remote via the power toggle, turned it back on and nothing happened, no lights, no screen no charm, when placed back on the charger the red light does not come one, not sure if it's worth ordering another batterie for it.

If you plug the remote into a USB cable directly, does it come on?

Red light not coming on is a sign that the unit is indeed powered off. Even with a dead battery, the red light should come on.
Glad you are back in business.
