You need to make sure that the copied text is plain text and does not contain any line breaks, tabs etc.
Then you should be able to paste it just fine - at least it works for me.
If PEP(3) does not "like" what you're trying to paste into the IR code window, it just ignores it.
You can try copying and pasting the code from another already existing code to check that copy/paste still works.
