What's the most current RS323 setup you guys use to control H21 or HR23 boxes from RFX9600?
I've seen few posts from early last year, but wanted to see what the current recommended and reliable solution is.

Is there a kit for this, or is it all mixed and matched?

I brought RFX9400 on site for the TSU9600 integration with his DirecTV box and Denon988 and he looked at the emitters and told me no way.
So now I'm sitting on RFX9400 and have to do the RS232 with RFX9600 setup. Didn't play with serial control yet, wanted to ask you guys what to watch out for. He wants it done before the end of the month, that's not a lot of time.

The document can be downloaded and the link is available with a search in the RS232 forum. A few hints.. there are 3 usb to serial adapters that will work with these boxes.... save yourself some grief and disconnect the receiver from power.. attach the adapter.. and then apply power to the receiver.... attach a null cable between the RFX 9600.. assure you have assigned the right device to the correct port on the RFX and make sure you have setup the extender ID in the software to match the ID on the extender. Also.. not related to this task.. but assure you have upgraded the extender to the current firmware.
