Hello there!!!
Is there any way to control MZC-66 with RS232 Commands via Control port ? Or you must use RSA-1.0 for this.
My Installation includes this machines and i need your help :
1- Philips Pronto TSU9800 2- Philips RFX-9600 Controller 3- Speakercraft MZC - 66 4- Imerge S-3004 5- 2x Denon Tuners....
The first time that i install a Speakercraft MZC-66 with Pronto Philips RFX-9600 i use ir commands and works perfectly. It was so easy that i wanted to do that again to my next multizone installation.
The problem is that my new MZC-66 didn't reply so i guess that amplifier might have problem so i use an another one but the problem was the same. So i though that the amplifier hadn't any problem so i want to try RS232 commands.
If you can control MZC-66 via Control port , does anyone know the pin-out of the cable?
Any other suggestions ????
Thanks in advance

Hi Savas,
The best way is to use the Altavox/Speakercraft Prontoscript availible at the ProntoScript site. The license fee is €200 for unlimited use for an installer, then support is included. Basically you need a RFX9600 and the RSA1,0 serial inteface to control it. There is only 2way communication for system specific controls, not ipod at this stage. The imerge should be used with the built in script in PEP, not the new script as it requires a firmware upgrade that compomises the built in 2-way communication in the MZC system w Mode panels.

the Script made by Altavista Works fine, but is still using the audio routing programing codes, I sugest you to change and use with the keypads codes, this will emulate all the keypads, ex: wen you press DVD, turn on the DVD and the TV, using the IR outputs of the MZC.

Please note that you have to get a license from Altavox (thats us) to use this script. License terms are featured in the App notes that comes with the script. Or contact us via www.altavox.sebest regards Peter

Thanks Peter , but i'm sure that i can do that without RSA 1.0 because i have done this before. The problem is the ir commands that i give to controller and i think is wrong. If you can help me with that i'll be very greatfull.
The last thing i have recognise but i'm not sure about that, is that i think the ir commands are different in version of MZC-66(different in v2.2.4 ,in v2.2.5.....)
I'll give a try again.

You can't use the script without a RSA 1,0, period. I will be glad to assist you with the script when we have received payment for the licence fee.
An invoice for the licence will be mailed to you directly.

I'll give a try again. SC MZC IR codes have not changed between differnt firmware revisions.

Hi Rafael, Since you are clearly using our script we expect you to obtain a licence for the script from us. Please drop us a mail as partner (a) altavox.se and we will provide payment details.

Hey Guys,
This thread became very quiet after I mentioned the license fees! No emails or RC-mails either, just quiet. We have invested alot of time and money in developing this script and further development is dependning on license fees. That includes the ipod integration that will be a free upgrade to those who paid license.

Hey Nimnul,
Finally i resolve my problem with my customer MZC-66. I had a grounding problem with one of my rack machines(Allied Tellesis 16port Switch). That was the problem. When i unmount the switch from the rack everything works perfectly. The ir codes that i had, works correctly so you are right that they didn't change between the firmware updates.
Thanks all for the help
