Sorry if this has been covered before, but I didn't really see much...
Looking at picking up a TSU9400/9600/9800 and was curious if the lowly end-user/consumer is frozen out of anything by not utilizing a CI for programming their remotes. Are all softwares/firmwares/features available to me as the consumer and end-user? I really like some of the URC offerings, but this is a solid no-go do to not technically being able to acquire the software needed to program the remotes.
Thanks for looking.

Hi
All of the features are available to you through the editor software which can be D/L here or on Philips website.

The only thing you won't have ready access to are the pronto scrips that Philips and other MFGs have made avail to certified installers. At the same time, once you're ready, you can take online tests and become certified.

Level 1 certification basically requires you to know how to use the editor. Level 2 requires you to read up on how to use extenders (Philips provides PDF). Level 3 gets you the ability, IIRC to download unapproved scripts but requires that you build a configuration to philips specs and submit it as your test.
