What is the Difference between the SRU and SRP product lines?
It seems to be nilly-willy with no obvious reason why some remotes are SRU and others SRP.

Not entirely sure, but I believe it relates to models created by different divisions. Philips had their own remote control division (which seems to be most of the SRU ones), and one or two other remote divisions that they acquired and were run generally independently.
