Originally I purchased a harmony one. Returned it because of two main reasons.
1. The Devices could not be organized into the order that I would prefer.
2. I could not save my work to my own computer.

I then puchased the Philips Prestigo SRT8215.
Quickly programmed 15 devices into it and started testing ir commands.
Noted a few errors, so I was going to make corrections and retest.

When the remote was reconnected via usb, it prompted that a newer version of the firmware is available. I selected to update.
The remote failed to update and became unusable. It would not function.
Philips said no problem, take it back to the retailer for full refund or exchange.
I exchanged. I figured all of my programming work was lost.
I even uninstalled the Configo software and then reinstalled before connecting the new Prestigo. When I did connect, it asked if I would like to restore from my last save. I said yes and everything has been restored completely.

I am very happy with this remote and Philips customer service.
This remote was $80 cheaper than the harmony one.
The only big difference is that the harmony one also has a cradle for battery recharge. The Prestigo requires 3 X AA.
I'd much rather have functional over rechargable, especially for $80 bucks.

I will be doing more testing over the next while.
If anyone is considering this remote, then feel free to ask me a question.
Happy to test something out for you before you buy.

I have to agree with you. After trying a bunch if different remotes including the slow and overpriced Logitech remotes with their horrible web based software I ended up with the Prestigo SRT8215.

I'm really surprised how little info and how few reviews you find about this wonderful little remote on the web.

So far everything I have wanted to do with this remote has worked fine and I have hit not any obstacles what so ever. I also really the advanced option they have added in the software for tweaking activities.

Hi , I just bought the same remote. I can't configure it... I downloaded the software and it's not working. I called Phillips and although they are trying to help I think they have no clue of what is wrong. At first they told me the problem was my computer and to try on another computer which I did and the software doesn't work either. So I called bac and now they tell me they are experiencing problems with the file on www.myprestigo.com and they are trying to fix it. After a few hours , they called me back to let me know they sent me and email with the link to the file I needed. The link was remotecentral.com.

I'm confused and really really disappointed with this product so far.

Help!

Hi nearnorthneil, how are you getting on with the SRT8215? I'm looking at buying one but can you tell me whether the Prestigo commands database includes discrete commands for things not on the original remote? e.g. I have a Toshiba 37X3030D TV and to use activity buttons on a universal remote I would need the remote to have separate On and Off commands (whereas the remote has the usual dual command) and separate direct access buttons for each of the AV modes (whereas on the remote there is an AV button that opens a scrollable list to select the required AV mode). I have looked at all reviews I can find but can't see anyone mentioning this.

Many thanks,
James

I'd programmed my SRT8215 with 5 devices, realised the Apple TV buttons weren't working correctly so (a couple of weeks later) reconnected to edit the buttons, the software said "Welcome to Prestigo, setup your new remote" It couldn't see any of the programming already on the remote, even though the remote itself showed all the devices. I had to start from scratch.

I can't see any option in the software to save or backup a remote, how did your settings get saved?

I have also just bought this remote as it was on sale for a cheapish price, but I have one gripe, when I change from one activity to another, say watch blu ray to watch TiVo the bd player does not switch off. I am used to unused devices switching of when switching activities with my harmony remote, am I missing something or does this remote just not do that?
