I'm back! First, forgive my manners and thank you for all the help you've provided. Had a couple of months using the programmed remote and it's been pretty good but I do have three questions:

1. Is there a way to "lock" the remote with a special numeric code so that wifey dearest doesn't jab at the wrong buttons and screw up the programming? She has some how unprogrammed it a couple of times.

2. Everything seems to work ok except for one thing. Pressing any button on the numeric keypad will UN-sync the remote and give me a blue screen "No Signal!" warning. Have to then press the Orange button to re-engage the Xfinity tuner to the last channel it was on. So if she knows that channel 845 is something she watches regularly, rather than trying to bring up the guide (that is flaky) and scrolling thru 100's of channels, she tries to punch in 845 and the screen goes blue.

3. As noted above in #2, pressing the guide button doesn't bring up the guide. It was working when first programmed but then it stops working.

Thanks again for the help.

OK, here's the deal. Got a 37" Vizio, and normal source is Comcast HD cable using the little box, not the one with DVR. So Comcast gives you a remote that can select channels do the volume. It's not a smart tv so I got a Chromecast. Now I can juggle remotes and watch appvalley Netflix, Amazon Prime, or HBO GO bc I have HBO on my DirecTV downstairs.

Anyway, I'm wondering if there's any remote App for an iPhone6 that would control everything, or even a "universal"remote or maybe there's a way to program the Vizio remote to control the Comcast box. The Comcast remote has no button to switch sources like from HDMI1 to HDMI2. The Vizio doesn't seem to be able to control the channel switching of the Comcast box LOL. Are you confused? I know my wife is!

Anything to make it easier please.

Use iPhone as a Smart TV remote controller. Use Your iPhone as a universal TV remote for FREE. It is perfectly working on iPhone 6
