I am a small part-time custom integrator and use URC CCP as I am not a TotalControl Dealer.

I am considering switching to iRule and using the open market GlobalCache stuff.

Anybody made a similar switch? Thoughts? Pros/Cons?

I just was going through the iRule software. It seems like they borrow A LOT from harmony. The way "activities" are done and even the way one choose what gear and product they have.

I do think it is cool that it supports IP/232, which I doubt harmony will ever do, but that is because IRule is harnessing the power of the GC units.

My first impression is Harmony 2.0. It's really hard to even compare iRule to CCP. One is clearly a custom professional product and the other feels very DIY. That's not to cast judgement in either direction on the products.

I recently switched from using Philips Pronto units to using Roomie Remote. I used iRule at first, but getting a working protoype is much easier with Roomie. The real dealbreaker for me is that iRule has no EPG. Roomie's built-in TV Guide system really makes a difference. Full customization is possible with Roomie though such endeavors probably are better suited for iRule.

Sorry to bring up an old post, but I am also a small dealer with a similar scenario and have some of the same questions. I currently use URC Total Control, and I just signed up to be a dealer for ON Controls (On Controls is the CI version of iRule). The hardware comes in tomorrow but I have been playing with the program for the last couple days.

I have the same questions. Anyone else switched to On-controls or iRule from any other platform?
