Hey everyone, I'm a total newbie here. Can someone suggest some PDA's with good IR performance? Or perhaps point me to a list of good PDA candidates? Thanks!

I use a Zire 72 and so far it has had good performance, as long as it has a good charge. If this is all you intend to use it for I would look at an actual remote, but as far as pda performance it is great for the price.

I just ordered OmniRemote yesterday and tried to use it with my Tungsten T. Unfortunately, I could only stand about 5 ft away from my TV or receiver. The FAQ says to calibrate the IR carrier for each device. This didn't seem to help at all.
They're out of stock on the IR module but even so, I don't think they make one for anything after the Palm VIIx.
I think I'm screwed.

Actually, the range usually depends on the program you use. NoviiRemote gives some advice here: for palm: [Link: novii.tv] (at the bottom of the page) for ppc: [Link: novii.tv]Good luck!
