I did that and put the image in the elements folder but I get nothing. I even tried to delete the existing file.

I am having a hell of a time getting this background to show up in ccp for the mx 780. I have added custom buttons to the icons folder and they show up but cant get the back ground to change. I added the background to the Alpha/elements folder. I have read the instructions on how to do it on a mx880 but nothing is working . What am I doing wrong. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I spent hours trying to hack this remote.  The background graphics seem to be hard coded into the remote and are unchangeable.  The only customization you can do is add custom buttons.

Buy an MX890 if you want custom graphics.

The graphics aren't hard coded, they just reside in a .vfd file where there is only one or two options. .vfd is an older than dirt format from the early 90s.

I can unpack and re-pack them to add a different default background for watch and listen, but I think that is about it.

I can hack anything URC, but each remote has rules and limits you have to follow.

Go here and download my free MX-780 template.

I've attempted to unpack the vfd file for the mx780, swap backgrounds, and repack the vfd, then load the file.  the backgrounds didn't change.  still had the same ugly solid colors.  I've done this a lot with the mx880, just didn't have success on the 780.
