We pulled a functioning Crestron Adagio system out of my customers home for various reasons. He sold it online and now the purchaser is having this issues:

After loss of power unit reports the program needs to be reloaded. Reloading from adagio composer fails stating something about failed to change directory to /nvram

Any advice or suggestions?

Yeah, don't buy Crestron on Ebay. Tell the purchaser to call the internet to fix it, prime example of why I tell my clients to buy from me.

Honestly I don't know whats wrong with it, but how is it your problem if the customer sold it.

Tell the end user to buy a big battery back up. This looks like a flypaper situation to me....

For obvious reasons, meaning? Then it was sold on the internet by the customer?

I don't feel sorry for the new owner who was looking for a deal on a used $7,500 piece of equipment.

We are not Crestron dealers. The old installers went out of business and did not give the customer the program files. So they were out of luck and were looking to make a couple of updates. We came in, switched everything to Sonos and kept their existing HAI system but added the ability to control with iApps for security and HVAC.

I mentioned he could try selling it online. He did and now the purchaser is having issues and I'm trying to help my customer out.

Some discussion in the yahoo group about replacing the internal lithium battery to troubleshoot an issue that sounds imilar - early July, no further discussion.

[Link: tech.groups.yahoo.com]

If the buyer has access to sw, then he probably knows about the yahoo group, and can read that thread.

Easiest and most logical solution - send it to Crestron for repair, after a reasonable amount of time and effort is put into troubleshooting.

Have the buyer initialize the processor, reflash the firmware and then load the program again. Should clear up the digital junk in NVRAM.

You have to re-enable the NVRAM, then drag and drop the two .xml files that are created by Systembuilder into the NVRAM file folder. Then reboot. There is a firmware update that addresses this problem.

On the left hand side front panel , near the room select buttons of the AES, you will see two tiny holes. The top one is a hardware reset, the bottom is a software reset. Push the button in (bottom hole) with a toothpic, unplug the unit, plug it back in while holding the button and after a minute it will load the default program as indicated on the front panel. Let go of the button.
I may be schizophrenic, but at least I have each other.
