Got a PMC2+ replacement for a DOA unit in this week. Have had it running ok since Monday. Went to change the processor ip address and it locked and crashed toolbox. Wasn't able to reconnect over ethernet. Tried to connect via usb but the device driver connection keeps dropping, reconnecting, dropping, reconnecting. Power cycled processor several times, cycled the usb cable several times..changed cables...changed computers...no go....

I AM SO SICK OF THIS CRESTRON SHITE!!!!

End rant and flame away...I don't really give a rats ###...!!!

One of the many reasons beer was invented.
Don't read my answer. Someone else will go into great detail as to why I am wrong rather than answer the original question...

I'm learning as I go, hence no expert. What router are you using? If this is an ip issue, may be suspect.
Hey, careful man, there's a beverage here!

We haven't had any pmc2 issues at all. Did maybe he ip
Address get partially changing before it crappEd out? As for USB, I had to
Connect to our very first u it with USB because dhcp wasn't enabled, but can't remember if there was any trick to making it happen.

I've had tons of issues with Crestron Prodigy equipment, but never the PMC2. I certainly believe you, but weird you had a bad one be replaced by a bad one.

I finally did a hard reset on the processor. Hold HW-R and SW-R buttons down together. Release HW-R button until processor reboots, then let go of the SW-R button after reboot. Got my DHCP IP address back. Did an initialize and restore. Loaded program and we are back in business.

Did you charge the client enough for all the hassle or are you just going to charge back Crestron for all extra labor hours spent getting it to work? Just curious?
Bill's Electric & Home Theater & Plumbing & Automation & Small Engine Repair, and Animal Removal Services......did I mention we do remotes also?

The client isn't responsible for failed/failing equipment. I will talk to my Crestron rep but it's doubtful we will be compensated.

Thanks for the hard reset procedure. Was unaware of that and will keep it in my back pocket for future possible use.

I think that is what happened. I was applying the IP change in toolbox and toolbox crashed. It 0'd out my ip address but when trying to go back in via usb it was continually dropping the connection so I couldn't even connect to initialize and restore the pmc2......
