Really? Last time I called an HVAC person in was $90 to roll the truck in and $90/hr to look at my thermostat.

Sorry, didn't read the question properly the first time. Time is approx 1hr to program and 1hr to install. This allows for troubleshooting and testing of the stat.

We got blamed once for not programming the thermostat correctly. I’m still not sure that our programming was not correct, but it was hard to argue after the fact.
We typically provide the thermostat to the HVAC contractor and let them install and configure the setup. The programming in SB is very quick. The gateway acquisition is also quick and usually done at the shop before it is delivered to the HVAC contractor.
The end user can program the schedules easily from a PTL4 or PTX3. It can be programmed during the instruction session in about three minutes.
