So I've tried to program a method as mentioned in another thread, using 3 variables to generate 8 possible states. I programmed in this method....

Press 'preamp' button from the DVD Page sets v1=0 v2=0 v3=1 and jump to the preamp page.

On that preamp page there is a 'back' button that initiates a macro called 'PTV', this macro then uses v1 as the variable so v1=0 which initiates another macro called 'PTV 0' which uses v2 as the variable, so v2=0, this initiates another macro called 'PTV 00' which uses v3 as the variable, so v3=1, this initiates another macro called 'PTV 001' which then is the full solution and the macro steps here are completed.

Problem is it doesn't seem to work...why not? Any and all help would be appreciated!

What you're doing sounds right... have you added some tracers (say page jumps) so you know how far it's going down the chain?

I'll give that a go this afternoon and see where we get with it, thanks for the reply.

Alright, hopefully this works ok, using thumbnails to save a bit of bandwidth for the provider.

Here's the Blu-Ray screen with the Preamp Track Variable (PTV) setup, I set the value of the '3 bits' to 001 upon the press/hold of the 'PREAMP' button at the bottom right LCD button. It does successfully flip to the PREAMP page as expected.

Now, on the PREAMP page here's the programming for the button at the bottom right LCD button. When you press the button, you do get flipped to the appropriate page, but that where the nested macro's seem to stop working...

Here's where you get flipped to, as you see, it is supposed to call another variable associated with a button on the same page called 'PTV 0'.

And here's macro 'PTV 0', and that macro is supposed to call the next macro solution 'PTV 00'.

Here's macro 'PTV 00', which you see is supposed to now call macro 'PTV 001'...

Here's macro 'PTV 001', the final solution and which should return you to the page on which you actually press/held the 'PREAMP' button. (essentially duplicating a Device - feature, if it was available).

At the point where the macros stopped working, but was page flipped to the correct page (page PTV) and I manually press the 'PTV 0' button on that page, it returns me to my PS2 page, which is programmed as v1=0, v2=1, v3=1 upon the PREAMP press/hold from that page. Also, if I press the 'PTV' button on that page, it returns me to my FM/AM page which is programmed to be v1=1, v2=1, v3=1 upon the PREAMP press/hold from that page. One more, if I press the 'PTV 1' button on that page, it returns me to the FM/AM page again (programmed to be v1=2, v2=1, v3=1).

I understand that this isn't an offical URC forum, but if someone could inform Darnitol or other URC rep to visit page I would appreciate it.

I think it is different software but do you think the Mx-950 nested macro problem might be related? See the discussion here: [Link: remotecentral.com]

I do think it's related...the software version is the same, but the remote firmware is not. But I do still think it's related, software wise.

I have been keeping up with that thread as well...

I received a phone call from URC tech support and sent my .mxg file, but haven't heard back. It's only been a couple days so I'll post back once I hear something.

Thanks for the update, I am interested in using variables in the same manner to extent their usage.

Any new info on this? I seem to be having the same problem on the tx-1000.
