I just discovered that the latest release of the software has a crappy IP database. I have no clue when the issue started.

If you go to "cable," the pulldown list of brands is completely empty. WTF!

If you look at any of the legacy categories, all of the brands are empty. What legacy!!!

Does anyone know why the IP database is so screwed up? Having a crappy database certainly isn't any good for installers. That pretty much forces them to learn the remotes. What about devices that have discreet power on/off and the remote doesn't. Whomever made that decision to remove entries needs to be fired. Horrible business decision.

Installers need to log in at URC and bitch.

I do not use IP. I have got an old version, 3.9.1127.3, that I do not use but have checked that and the situation is the same there. So its been like that for a while.

WTF?
Dude, CCP does not do IP control.
There was a time "many" years ago when they released some product that could do IP control. They decided to go in a different direction with CCP however and created TC.
Since CCP doesn't do IP control and the old code from "many" years ago doesn't work for most devices it was created anymore, they are slowly pulling it from the database entirely.

Anyone that is still hanging onto that very old CCP product that could do IP control; are finding it can't control much these days anyway.

[edit] Just to note, you are talking about product that debuted 16+ years ago! Not sure when that line of IP stuff was discontinued, but it was short lived. Maybe 10+ years ago?

I'm not arguing, I'm explaining why I'm right.

Crap, you are correct. I clicked on the wrong tab. The IR database is just fine.

Same here, my old 4.0.1106.7 version does not have any IP under “Cable”. Have a MX-5000 (IP, IR & RF) but do not use it because it does not have 2 Main buttons or numeric key pad like my MX-980's have.
