Hello, I have an mx-3000 remote and I know it is program through the mx-3000 editor software, if this is the wrong section to post I apologize in advance. I am looking to program a macro when my customer switches to watch a movie their av receiver goes to 55db, I know I could press the volume up button multiple times in the macro but if the volume is at a different level it wont go to my dedicated number of 55. I called urc today and they said it couldn't be done, however I was doing work at another customers house recently and they had their remote programmed like that, unfortunately I wasn't their to work on their remote so I don't know how the previous programmer did it. Any help would be greatly appreciated!! |

Depends on the receiver. Some had the ability to go to a preset volume. most can go to a preset volume when turning on, but it's not practical to turn it off and back on again to get back to a given volume.

I have 2 different customers, one has a Denon and the other has an Onkyo, I'm aware of the volume preset when turning on. thanks for the reply |

The other customer might have had an MSC-400 base station with serial control ports.

My Yamaha CX-A5100 (discontinued) has 12 scenes that allows several operating parameters to be set in each scene including volume levels for 3 different zones. You can also define 6 different volume levels for the zones. Have several different macros in the MX-980 to select various devices including various volume levels and/or scenes. |

Hello and thanks for the reply, I know my customer doesn't have that base station because I had to reinstall all of his components when he moved. On a side note though, if they did have that base station wouldn't there still be a volume macro that would of been programmed anyway? thank you |

As stated, it’s not a macro. It either is a code that the manufacturer put into the receiver by design (I have seen it in some Denon and Integra) or it does not exist.
