Hello,

It's been a while since I have been on here. I just got some new items and thought I would add them to my MX-980.

After going through all the headaches and finding you now need a dealer login, I can't seem to upload or download.

Being in Australia, URC were good enough to give me credentials. After downloading and installing the software successfully, I now am not able to download or upload...

IT IS not active sync as it all syncs and communicates perfectly. I can even view the files in the remote on windows Explorer.

But if I go to upload or download to the remote, it asks to choose the remote, once I have done that, the status bare comes up but doe not move. Then after a couple of minutes it takes me back to the select remote again?

I was thinking firmware BUT if I cannot upload or download to it, how on earth do I update the firmware?

Any advice appreciated.

Few odd thoughts

Have you tried another pc if you have one ?

Have you taken the batetry out of the remote for a few minutes ?

If you want to pm me your file I will try it on my spare remote see if it works ?

I am on Win7 but this win10 fix helped me

I actually setup an old notebook I had lying around with Windows XP SP3. being so old, it does have trouble accessing the internet.

With the new software installed, I CANNOT do a live update. It comes up with some kind of Error. that does not worry me, but to be able to download and upload does.

I had installed my old software prior to updating to the new one and I was able to download and upload from the remote. So I am guessing it is the software.
I will however try the battery trick. thanks.

I also have an old XP laptop I used when active synch did not work till I did the fix above, that gives a live update error, but uploads fine.

I think CCP is portable, so if you copy the programe on to the xp pc it should work.

You could also factory reset the 980.

I would uninstall and reinstall CCP from a fresh download on the pc giving the issue as well.

Well no luck. Tried a new cable, made sure it is in the device manager and being seen, just keep getting the error can't connect. I tried resetting to factory and removing the battery for a while. Nothing seems to work. Oh, did an uninstall and reinstall as well.

I sorted it out. More by fluke... I loaded a previous version of the software and the download worked.

I then went back to the latest version and the upload download started working. So no idea why or how, but seemed to sort it out. For anyone else having similar issue,, try this.
