I want to map a button on my mouse to a computer keyboard shortcut.
And I want that keyboard command to instigate a change from my MX-980.

Basically, I want to press a mouse button to initiate my remote controlled HDMI switch changing to a different input.

RS232/Cat5 options are not available.
It's an entry level HDMI matrix switch.

Rather than attempting  to subvert the MX-980, why not attempt to install a parallel control system on your computer. At the moment I don't have any suggestions, but I may come up with something later.
