I am trying to get my new Nvidia Shield TV Pro integrated with my URC MX-990 but the codeset in Complete Control doesn't work (I assume it works with older Nvidia's). I'm using a FLIRC into the Nvidia's USB. Has anyone gotten this to work?

you need to plug your FLIRC into your computer, load up the software, and that is how you tell the FLIRC which remote codes translate into which button on the shield remote. FLIRC does NOT just add a remote receiver to the sheild, it is smarter than that.

you can use the nvidia shield codesset so you should not need to re-prog your remote.

Thanks for that explanation. I downloaded FLIRC and programmed the device to NVIDIA Shield Gen 2 and it still doesn't work. Any suggestions?

If I recall, the order was :

1. set up the URC remote - you can choose nvidia shield codeset or anything you want
2. load the FLIRC software, choose shield gen 2, and then you need to teach the flirc the codes from the URC remote using the software.

The preceding suggestion to use FLRIC, I thought, worked well. It was very easy to program the FLIRC but it was giving me double bounce. I thought I could live with it/solve it. There had been a fix via software setting in the FLIRC software but for some strange reason, that setting is no longer available for modification.
So, I had to get rid of FLIRC.

inteset 422-3 remote and Inteset IReTV USB IR Receiver combination are very inexpensive and work perfectly.
You can easily program the Inteset remote for IR codes of shield tv (and fire tv). Then you can teach the IR to any programmable remote.

Only one issue I am having is - I have Xantech ml95 IR extender system (equipment is in next room) and the IR from Inteset works directly when pointed to the IreTV IR receiver but it does not work, when I try to use the Xantech system (IR emitter from xantech was taped to the IR receiver and yes, it is emmitting IR but shield is not responding). Does it have to do something with the IR frequency being used? I just ordered a 38 khz capable IR emitter. My Xantech ML 95 is 20 khz to 50 khz. The connecting block xantech 791-44 is 30 to 60 khz. I am assuming it is the emitter? Just today, I found an emitter on amazon, which specifically says 38 khz. If anyone know of general purpose emitters which cover 30 to 60 khz, please let me know.

Does anyone know what carrier frequency Shield IR codes use?
My xantech extender system works just fine with Fire TV IR codes.

Using flirc: While I use the up/down/left/right/enter buttons, frequently, it moves in two steps and occasionally in one step. For example, if i press left button, it moves 2 steps lefts most of the time and one step (as intended) less number of times. How do I fix this?

I have the ccp file for nvidia shield IR codes. You just need an IR to usb receiver available on amazon for $13. I can give you the model number later, if ou are interested. If you want just IR codes, buy the Inset model INT-422-3 and it can be easily programed with preset codes for shield and firetv

Btw, the FLIRC was useless. There was no easy way to avoid "double press" issue.

You couldn’t set the number of repeats to 1?  I had to do that when the Roku 4 started moving two steps at a time.
