I recently changed my equipment that my mx 5000 controls and no longer need the wi-fi function. Thinking that the battery would last longer, I went into ccp and removed everything that previously needed wifi. I then unchecked the able/disable box on the wifi settings page on the remote itself. I then used the remote normally for a few days and noticed no change in battery depletion rate (one day). I then looked at the remote Wifi settings page again, and noticed what looks like a wifi ping every few seconds. Does this mean that wifi reception can not be turned off? Anyone know?

Go into the settings on the remote itself and disable Wi-Fi.

I did turn off the wifi on the remote itself, and that is the point of this post.
