Anybody had problems with the AA batteries in MX780s recently? We never saw issues in the past, but we have now had multiple remotes that had batteries that completely died inside a month. Anyone else?
See our Youtube page for info about smart homes, great audio and more.

Another client just called us...same issue. There is definitely a bad battery batch out there. Be warned (or carry AAs).

Sounds like bad excuses to force a mx-890 exchange.

Just curious. Do these clients have young kids? I had a client whose kid would constantly press the light button. Theist would be on for hours a day basically. Batteries didn't like that.

Or LCD and buttons set to stay on too long...
There is no truth anymore. Only assertions. The internet world has no interest in truth, only vindication for preconceived assumptions.

To be clear, the issue is with the batteries supplied with the remote? New Duracell/Energizer/Sams Club batteries are fine?
Not that the remote is churning thru batteries, correct?

Correct. New batteries work fine. We never had problems before with any of the MX780s and we just had three in one week do this. When clients have multiple remotes that crap out after 3 weeks, it is annoying although we know that new batteries will do the trick.

I would just pick up a bulk supply of double A's at Costco or some other place and supply a set with each remote. Thanks for the heads up.

Not for nuthin', but it would really help if you contacted a URC rep or employee to report this, maybe a post on their URC Control room. They are always asking for the serial # inside the battery compartment when reviewing these issue to see if there are similar reporting's.
