Was wondering if the bug is still there in CCP where you need to set the IR port to "ALL" for all devices instead of to each individual device, like it should be.

Is there any other work-around besides setting the port to ALL and adding delays as necessary? Is URC ever going to address the issue or are they relying on the work-around?

Thanks.

Well you asked a question, and then without waiting for an answer proceeded to ask if URC will ever fix the issue you are asking if it still exists. I cannot speak for everyone and all installs, but I recently completed 5 separate installs all with MX980/MRF350 combos, none of which had an issue with the IR port assignments.

Never had any issues with port assignment except sometimes a little bleed between outputs.

So you can set the port assignment for each device, not set to ALL, and in a macro alias commands from various devices and it works correctly? It doesn't for me hence my post. In searching the forums I am apparently not the only one with this issue so don't understand why it works for some but not others.

I haven't updated the software for over a month and know there was at least one update so that's why I asked if it was fixed/being worked on. No need to be so pedantic.

Typical of the new folks. You made the comments, not I. "When will URC fix their crap that I don't if it doesn't work right or not". Whatever. Fix it yourself.

Dude, go hug a puppy or something. I don't know, nor do I care, what crawled up your ass but I didn't say anything to you or anyone that deserved the replies you gave me. If you can't help and not be a dick about it, then just ignore my thread.

Yeah. I've never had to set the devices to all on ANY of the URC base stations I've done. Every device gets it's own port assignment.

I usually set the "Watch" and "Listen" main pages to all in the RF programming section but that's about it.

Assuming English is like your 4th or 5th language?

Thanks for your reply, kgossen.

And even though I said all I wanted to say to goldenrulz, I did another search for this problem and came up with a thread on this site that describes the problem I am having 100% to the "tee" (actually, I posted in it as well). Take a wild guess who the author of that thread is? I swear you couldn't make this stuff up.

Never said the problem never existed. It absolutely did. It no longer does, not in my recent experience which I offered to you as an answer to our question. I also pointed out that you asked a question and at the same time asked whether URC will ever address the issue before you waited for an answer. With the abbundance of new people that sign up here solely for the point of looking for illegal software or bashing URC, I had to wonder if this was the case. I did not call you out, I did not ignore you original post, I merely pointed out that you asked and did not wait for the answer before posting you dismay with URC not fixing this. Skipping over the fact that I answered your question on whether the issue is still a problem, you inform us you have not updated the software, and in my mind, somewhat slam me with your pedantic comment. I was the first person to post in response to your question and did so only to help you. A simple thanks have sufficed.

So I took Duct Tape and KVH's advice in the thread I linked above, which was to add a delay before each IR command in the macros and now its working perfectly. I swore I tried it before and was still having trouble but its good now so I won't question it. Now commands are sent to each specific device only which is what I wanted. Just to verify I removed the delays and the problem came back so it looks like it is some kind of bug still.

I've also never had that specific problem with the 980/350 combo and i've done many systems with that setup.  However i always use delays b/t commands so I guess thats why ive never notice any issues.
Good to see you got it worked out.
