Hello
I have a MX980 and the MX980 editor supplied by my dealer (I would be happy to get the CCP editor, but impossible to move URC when you are a poor end-user....).
My question is about IR codes : once you have laboriously learned them from another remote (or found by browsing discrete code databases), they seem to fall in a black-hole : I couldn't find any way to recover them (in pronto hex format) from the .rcf files with the MX980 editor (even with the universal browser).
Is there a tool which does this (as CCF Extractor does with .ccf files) ?
Or is it possible to have documents describing the .rcf format ?
Thanks in advance.

Nope. Unless you mean to utilize in another MX editor file. What exactly are you trying to accomplish?

Thank you for your answer.
Once codes are learnt, if I can get their pronto format, tools as IRTool or IRScope give me the protocol, device number, command number, ....
Now I can try to generate other codes for the same device to discover discrete codes if the original remote lacks them.
Sometimes also I don't remember in which database I found the code programmed in a MX980 button, and having it in pronto hex format would help recover this info (or compare the code with another one).
Once programmed in a button, the code becomes "inaccessible", and I feel that as a little frustrating...

Yep unfortunately you are out of luck with doing anything like that with URC. Best bet for you would be to acquire an old pronto from eBay or something. You can use that to learn codes into and it will show the pronto hex data.
