Hello again.

I've noticed that in the image gallery, when creating a device, that the icons available vary from remote to remote. For example, in the gallery for the MX-780 there is an Apple TV icon, and cool looking PS3 icon. However, in the MX-880 gallery, there is no Apple TV icon and the PS3 icon looks lame.

Is there a way that I can share icons between remotes, or perhaps some kind of master gallery that I can use? Perhaps I can add my own?

Thanks, Craig

OK never mind. I found links, on the URC toolbox, to people who offer logos, and one had instructions on how to install them.

So now my question is this....

How can I use these cool pictures on pages other than the main device pages? For example, there are some nice looking Playstation buttons that I would like to use on the page that populates once I choose the Playstation. How do I import images to show up as those buttons?

Thanks again.

Craig

Hey Craig I'm probably not going to be much help as I haven't tried customizing the graphics on the 880, but I do believe there is a thread in this forum that instructs how to create device templates and install them into CCP. Did a quick search and didn't find exactly what I was looking for, but may have just worded it wrong. If offering custom graphics to your customers is something you want to do often the 980, 5000, and 6000 are much more suitable for the task, and even have custom templates available at some GUI sites.

you save the graphics into the Alpha/Icons folder.  then you need to add each graphic as a device.  then you can cut and paste the graphic from your main page, over to another device page.  it will ask if you want to delete the device when you cut, choose yes.

keep in mind that if you email the file to someone else to load onto thir remote, they will have to have the same graphics stored on their computer.  the remote file doesn't actually store the graphics, it just tells CCP where to look for graphics when downloading to the remote.

Awesome. Thanks guys. I don't necessarily want to offer this to my customers. I'm just getting into the URC familly and am doing the first one for my own system so I can learn all of the important things before I bring them out into the field. Just playing right now.

Thanks again.

if you plan on selling this remote.  don't bother doing any customization for a customer's remote.  upgrade to the mx980 if you want a good graphics capable remote.  it isn't worth the headache dealing with manipulating graphics on the mx880.  the time wasted will more than eat up the cost savings between the two remotes.
