Playing with all these A/V toys is a mix of fun and frustration.
Previously I could not get a MRF-200 (actually a 250) to work so I purchased a used MRF-300 off an Amazon associate. It finally arrived the other day but only had 3 visible flashers instead of 6 (I have yet to complain about that).
Anyway the 300 worked so I tried out the 200 again and found it worked on some, but not all components. I guess I was unlucky before and tried it out on components which were incompatible. Anyway the 300 works fine on everything (obviously considerably improved over the 200) so I have hooked up 6 items on it and found 3 which worked on the 200. One annoyance was that the plugs used on the 300 are larger than on the 200 so a bit of soldering was needed to use 3 of the 200 flashers on the 300.
I'm impressed with the power of the RF signal (from my 850) - it triggers things when the 850 is operated a few rooms away. For many years I have lived with the need to point the remote for IR, but will appreciate the extra freedom RF gives. The reason I have finally moved into RF is I want to use and control feed from the main system going to another room so easier control of the main system is a bonus.
All of which makes me pleased I jumped on the URC band wagon many years ago. Such a pity management decided not to support consumers like us any more - means I cannot really recommend their products to fellow A/V nutters.
