Hello everyone, sorry to post but I really need help. I have been speaking with URC for two days and not one person could help. Here is the problem:

I have two KP 4000's one in kitchen and one in foyer linked to the MRX-1

There are two Denon receivers one 4311 and one 2311

I am using the 4311:
zone 2 with the KP4000 to control the kitchen
zone 3 with the KP4000 to control the foyer

Each time I use the CCP and upload one KP4000 it works well but once I upload the other, it flips out and locks the KP's

I know you need more information and how it is linked but is there anyone here who truly knows how to use the CCP with the KP4000.

If there is anyone who would be willing to speak with me, I would not only be in your dept but I will make up for your time.

Cheers

Ed

IP conflict? Did you use static IP's?

MAC addresses properly assigned into CCP?

If you change order of downloading to the other kp first, do you still get lockup on the second?
There is no truth anymore. Only assertions. The internet world has no interest in truth, only vindication for preconceived assumptions.

Hello everyone,

So URCtold me that the Denon receivers can only take a single two way keypad and will create cross talk if more than one is added. I am swapping out for the yamaha recieved which they say will work.

I will keep everyone informed and thank you for the support and help.

Cheers

Socket issue with receiver.

Exactly. The 2 way documentation from URC states that Onkyo, Integra, Denon and Marantz only have 1 socket . You can only have 1 device actively communicating at a time. The documentation also states that B&K and Yamaha can support 5 sockets. Sign of the times. The AVR mfgs need to change to allow for more 2 way control.

I've never understood why denon has stuck with only one socket for the last 4
Years. They know it is causing some problems for us CIs. How hard can it be?
Chasing Ernie's post count, one useless post at a time.

Now I am a little pissed off if your statement about Onkyo is true because Onkyo states that their receivers will do up to four two way coms at a time with no problem so I just ordered one.

Yamaha does not offer Pandora so I could not use them. The customer requested Pandora be an option.

I just put the Onkyo TX NR1008 and it keeps locking up on just one KP4000. It locks up when I press the V Radio (Internet Radio)

I am just about to put URC behind me because of the lack of support and CCP is just not working well for me.

If any programmers live near Alamo, CA (Walnut Creek Area) and would like to help, I could pay for some support but please dont ask for hundreds of dollars because I will just return all of the URC parts before that happens.

Cheers

The static IP is assigned on the receiver, and the MAC ID for the KP4000 is assigned?

I thought the RTI could work with multiple keypads without conflict, is this not correct.

I have a question regarding KP4000 integration with receivers that are limited to only one socket.

I assume the same problems would occur between a KP4000 and a 2-way remote (i.e.MX-5000) with one socket receivers?

Onkyo is only 1 socket. Just did TXNR708 and changed the programing to work with it.

You can have multitudes of 2-way interfaces in a system, the issue is how many of these interfaces can connect to a single socket receiver simultaneously. One socket means only one interface can connect at a time.

Thanks Joe,

So for example:

This will work?
If someone starts using the KP4000 in the kitchen to control an Integra 2-way tuner interface.
Then the client moves to sit down and grabs a remote with the same 2-way interface to change a station.
System remains stable?

This will not?
2 people in the house try to launch the same 2-way tuner interface at the same time?
System crashes?

I'm contemplating adding a couple of KP-4000's and MRX-1 to my system and just want to get clear on what to expect!

Thanks again,
Karl
