Does anyone know how to use this? The USB (HID) port is connected to my computer... if I put ASCII text in and hit test, the text I type is sent to the PC. (If notepad is open, it's typed in there...)

But if I save the file and upload it to the MSC, then trigger it with a remote... it doesn't work.

I know I can set up an IR device on the remote using AUX 501/502... but that doesn't let me use the device in a smart macro on the MSC.

Anyone know how to accomplish this?

I've also tried setting up an IR device on the MSC with code 501/502, and this doesn't work either.

You really don't need to do anything with the MSC-400 other than plug your computer in.

I used 501/502 in the IR data base and assigned them to keys on the remote.

I use a macro of multiply 502 IR button presses in the remote to launch a program in Windows.
For example :IR(AUX.502.RIGHT CTRL.) IR(AUX.502.F10.)
I then assign these short-cut keys in Windows to launch a program. ( ie.Launch XMBC)
It works fine using my MX-5000 and msc-400.

I use 2 steps to launch a program.
I use the msc-400 triggered macros to turn on components and settings and then go to a program launch page. Then I use the above example.
I don't think I had any luck mixing 501/502 and msc-400 triggers together in a macro. It's been a while since I figured it out.

You can also use this method by Duct Tape using Event Ghost for control.
I haven't tried it yet but it looks slick!
