Need to create a macro that will close and then re-open Media Center with a single button press. I did some searching because I figured this would be a common request, but nothing came up that seemed like a clean solution.

I believe some MCE remotes have a "close" button that probably does an Alt-F4 but none of the remotes I have do. I also believe Microsoft has an IR keyboard that could be used to learn an Alt-F4 press.

I figured there must be a device or CCF file somewhere that contains this button, but I can't find it.

Can anyone point me in the right direction??

Thanks!

You can put EventGhost on your computer and send any IR command to the PC and then map it to whatever you want, such as Alt+F4.

If you have access to a Harmony remote you can add the Microsoft / Media Center SE device and I think it has "close" included. Then just learn that into the URC remote.

As for a CCF files, I don't have one and can't help you with that. I just use EventGhost and mapped the MCE RED button to Alt+F4.

You're the man! Thanks so much. I did have an old Harmony 880 kicking around, and the Media Center SE device had a code for Alt-F4. Macro is now working great.

Thanks again!

IR Aux Microsoft 501/502..........

It's been a while, but this is of potentially great use to me. However, I am not sure what 501/502 means??

I am trying both an MX-3000 and MX-990, but unable to get a combined IR signal for alt+F4 to close PowerDVD.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!
