I spent most of one day hunting for a driver for the U232-P9 USB converter but eventually did find it. It is a Prolific driver dated 19/11/2009 Driver version 3.3.10.140 A Google search should turn it up for you.
I also have a Belkin USB converter but Belkin told me it is an obsolete model so they could not help. I can still use it on my laptop as it is Windows 7 32 bit but only the U232-P9 will work on this 64 bit PC.
