With RTI I have used flags to track room status and volume So that I can select a room from the home page of the remote which sets the flag so that any sources and selected and volume control will only activate the macros and commands for that room.

Can I do this the same way with URC?

With URC you need to set up variables. I use them all the time.

I personally think Variable creation in URC is more time consuming than flag creation in RTI.

I would check and see if there is a variable limit on the MX-900. I remember there being a limit of 8 variables (for the MX-900), but I'm not sure. The limit may/may not matter for your install, but I would call URC and see what it is before ordering anything.

Cory,

IMO, the MX980, which allows virtually unlimited variables, and also allows multiple variables within a macro would be a better choice. It certainly would be my starting point for a multi zone system.

I agree completely.
