I had a MX-700 for about 7 years and loved it. About once per week, it would randomly send out the "TV Display" command which was on a programmed button on page 3 of the active device but this never was a problem.

I just bought a used MX-800 and not only does it send the same command, but at about once per hour, it randomly sends out other commands to the selected device (the sat receiver). Most common is the previous channel but also sends out menu, sequentially 3 channel downs/up, and even sent out "8", "5", "0" spaced about 1.5 seconds apart. All the random commands are sent while the remote is just sitting there on the arm of the chair. It has done this on IR and "RF only".

The buttons are not stuck. You have to fully depress the above keys to get them to register.

Anyone elese see this and is there a fix?

Next time it starts this sequence, pull a battery, just to be sure it's the remote.

Yeah, suspecting a neighbor.
There is no truth anymore. Only assertions. The internet world has no interest in truth, only vindication for preconceived assumptions.

No. Closest neighbor is over 500 yards away. Like I said, even on "only" IR it does this and it is in the basement with no windows. There is no way the neighbor is beaming IR through the cement.

Also, this only started to happen when the switch from MX-700 to MX-800 happened so I am 100% sure it is not the neighbor.

I switched from only IR to only RF just to see if there was something there but it does the same regardless.

One thing I noticed is the MX-700 had the buttons hit the PCB directly. On the MX-800 there is a sheet of flexible sheet (no components) in between the buttons and the PCB. Can someone tell me if the aluminum side touches the key pad or the PCB? (one side is Al and one side is green with white circles around each hole).

Don't have any fav programmed.

No events.

I figured out the white part of the sheet has to face the keys...it makes them glow with the light.
