Has anyone been successful feeding the IR blaster output of Logitech Revue (Google TV) into the MRF-350 IR input bus? When I attempt this the URC emitters flash while the Revue is supposed to be sending IR, but none of the commands work. The Logitech IR blaster can control my devices, but I would need several to work in my cabinet. Could this be an issue of too much (too little?) IR signal being sent from the Revue the MRF?

ALSO, am I correct in reading on these forums that a URC remote can control the Revue too?

So you are asking if the Logitech Revue (Google TV) can send commands thru a MRF350 (not the other way around)?

yes. (and yes)

Primarily, I want to know if the revue can use the MRF as an IR distribution block. (Although I tried this and it doesn't seem to work.) This is most important to me.

Secondarily, I want to know if the revue can be controlled via a URC MX remote. (I read a thread concerning this, but I wasn't clear if this is at all possible) Important, but not as much as using the MX as a distro block.

I highly doubt that you can do either. The MRF base stations are controlled by URC RF capable remotes not IR. There is no ability to input IR into the MRF. The only input into the MRF is from the RF antenna which is not IR.

The Revue is controlled by it's proprietary keyboard not by a remote.

Actually the MRF350 does have an IR input. So theoretically when sending it IR only it "should" work if connected correctly. You lose IR routing when doing this, but it does except IR. Looking at the back, RF in is on one side, IR in is on the other.

Yes the MRF350 base does have an ir input, anybody who has held it in their hands and looked at it can see it.

The issue is if the blaster output from the revue is compatible with that input(too powerful, wrong frequency, etc) Is this input only designed for a specific target eye or for general input? I know matching IR equipment can be tricky, but I was hoping there is an answer here. Attenuating the signal, some sort of converter?

I solved one of my issues: Controlling the Revue w/MX-880 remote

Step 1: Attach an emitter directly to the Revue's IR output and see if it works.
Step 2: If Step 1 works, connect the Revue's IR output to the MRF-350's input. Double check that your wiring is correct. Test.

Theoretically, yes... you should be able to hookup the IR out on the Logitech to the IR in on the MRF and it should work.

I'm guessing it's a frequency issue of some sorts.

My suggestion would be to test the Logitech's output directly with an emitter. If it works, then get a known working IR receiver for the MRF-350. Something like a SpeakerCraft IRC-3.0, IRC-2.0 or equivalent and stick the logitech emitter on it. Hide the receiver/emitter in the back of your cabinet and call it a day.

$50-$75 later.... headache solved.
I keep pointing my remote at the turntable but, it never advances to the next track.
